Episode 19 of the marketing live podcast. Today we’re going to be going over some marketing things that are going to be happening and my predictions for 2019 as far as the online marketing course goes. I am cranking on a guys, it is taking a lot of time so I wanted it done by the first but obviously it didn’t happen but I’m going to keep cranking on it and hopefully we’ll have it done by the end of this month. So let’s dive into episode Number Nineteen, the 2019 marketing prediction.

So we’re going to over six things today in this podcast. We’re going go over website, facebook ads, Youtube ads, paid ads, email campaigns, and of course quality content and how it trumps content in general. So let’s dive in to this podcast.

Mobile Friendly And Simple Website

So basically going over your website, what is so important about your website? One of the big, big things here in 2019 is obviously mobile usage is continuing to increase. So basically you need to make sure that your website is mobile friendly. You need to make sure it’s clean and simple and it you need to make sure it’s telling your customers what to do. A lot of times companies in general going, they custom code their websites and it just causes grief, pain and heartache. I kid you not guys, I’ve worked with a lot of different companies and everyone that’s come to me has had a crappy website. It’s not mobile friendly, so make sure your clients, make sure your business and everybody’s website is just crushing it, mobile friendly and loads fast.

Targeting The Right Audience With Facebook Ads

The next thing I want to go over his facebook ads. Now, facebook ads, they are going to continue to increase in cost if you’re not being creative, if you’re not targeting the right audiences and if you’re not remarketing to people and if you’re not using video ads, so what do I mean by being creative? Find fun ways to be creative and fun. Be Yourself, be very transparent and make your ads fun, engaging and creative. If you guys want some simple examples, go check out like Russell Brunson. Go check out some of the stuff I’ve posted on my blogs. I’ve, I can show you guys some simple creative ads that work. The best thing is is if you want to find your target audience, go in and schedule and plan out who you’re going to target, so I say be smart with your targeting, be smart with your research and go in and make a game plan and this is going to help lower your cost per conversion and your facebook ads are going to perform better. So if you use the audience insight tool inside of facebook, it’s a simple way that you can learn more about your target audience and you can definitely cut that per conversion down.

Retargeting Facebook And Instagram Audience

The next thing I want to talk about is actually remarketing on facebook and instagram. Basically you need to be going in and retargeting people that have engaged with your content. So what I mean by retargeting, delivering an ad to them, again, that has a different offer of your product or service. So basically anybody that has liked your page is watched your videos, visited any of your websites. Basically you have the ability to go in and re target them. Currently I’m running a campaign that’s retargeting and it’s actually cut the cost per conversion and half, so making sure that your remarketing across all the platforms on facebook and instagram. This is going to help keep your cost per conversion down.

Running Video Ads On Social Media Platforms

The next thing I want to talk about is video ads, so video ads. Basically video ads have been one of the highest converting tools across the board, so if you’re not running video ads over image ads, you need to be testing this and seeing what works best for your business. So a lot of times people are liking to watch videos. Videos are more engaging than actual images in the long run, and it’s also gonna help build brand awareness for your business. So make sure you guys are using video ads for your business to generate leads and sales for your business. And that’s going to wrap up the section on facebook and instagram. Next thing we’re going to be going over Google ads. In my opinion, these things are always going to work if you guys are Super Smart with your keyword research, so keyword research is going in and making sure you’re going after keywords and terms that are relevant to your business, so making sure that you’re using specific key words and being very strategic with how you’re using your keywords is going to be super effective in 2019.

What’s up guys? It’s Taylor Timothy with the marketing life podcast and today I’m going to be talking about the ebook that I just released. I’m super excited about this. So let’s dive in.

Summary Of My Ebook

So the first thing I want to talk about, why did I write this ebook?

My whole goal is me and this podcast and everything is to help businesses get more leads, more cells, and basically I just kind of give a little step by step process on what you guys need to do to implement these things into your online business.

Quality Website For Your Business

So the first thing that I go over with you guys is your website and I talk about like making sure you have the right theme. If you’re using wordpress, making sure that you have good hosting, making sure you have a consistent look and feel across the board, the pixels that you guys need to have in place when you’re building your websites to. I talk about Google site speed tests. I talk about tracking and using thank you pages and linking your opt in forms, your crm, using the facebook messenger Chat Bot. And obviously I talk about like the no brainer things that you need to have on your website.

So that’s the first thing in the ebook where I go over is basically the concept of your website and the things that you need to have in place. The next thing I go over his messaging and messaging that you have on your website. So the first thing that I talk about is it’s called a usp and it’s called the unique selling proposition. All of your websites, all of your landing pages need to have some sort of unique selling proposition. And I, in this ebook I go over some simple like unique selling propositions that you guys can have on your website. The next thing that I go over is can your website past the five second test. Now a lot of people are like, what’s the five second test? So when you land on the webpage, on that landing page, do you see in the first five seconds, can you verify what you are looking at the website you’re on and the offer that the website is, is offering to you. A lot of websites actually don’t do this, so it’s really important to have the make sure that your website can pass what I call the five second test.

Social Proof On Your Landing Pages

The next thing I talk about is social proof. Now what social proof show that you guys actually have raving fans, so on your landing pages with your messaging, make sure you have some sort of testimonial or social proof on that landing pages. Well, and that’s the wrap on messaging. This next one’s probably a fan favorite, obviously facebook and instagram, so I go over about creating your facebook page and making sure that your page actually reflects your website, so have a lot of the same information on your facebook page as if it were your website. The next thing I talk about is making sure you use the facebook pixel and making sure that pixels on your site installed properly and across your header.

Finding Your Audience On Social Media To Generate Sales

Then next thing I talk about is creating your audiences and finding your audiences that are going to help generate more leads and sales for your business. Then the next thing I talk about in the book is creating custom conversions, created conversions, and making sure that you’re actually tracking the cells from your facebook ads. And last but not least, I talk about, uh, creating ads for facebook and your instagram marketing. I talk about all the different types of instagram and facebook ad types that you can run for your business and where they are located while they’re running on these different platforms. And the last thing I talk about is in this section is making sure you give your ads time. You know, one of the things that I’ve experienced running facebook and instagram ads instantly the day, the next day after you’ve set up your ads, you want to touch them, you want to change them. But the reality of it is you need to make sure you give these campaigns time. Generally speaking, I give my ads three days before I decide if I’m turning them off or making any changes. So give your ads and your campaigns time and we’ll wrap that up with facebook and instagram.

What’s up guys? It’s Taylor Timothy with the marketing life podcast and today we have Alex Lowery on the show. Now Alex is an expert in video and me and him also go way back. We started shooting video together back in the day and then I kinda took the direction and started getting into online marketing and he continued down the video path. So I want to have him on the show today to share his expertise with video production. One of the things online marketers need is obviously video and he can share some insights to how video production works, how it goes down, and the costs and what goes on with a video production. So. So let’s dive in and learn from Alex Lowery. So Alex, tell us your backstory of how you got into videography.

Introduction to Alex Lowery

Alex: Yeah, man, it’s good to be here and glad to be on this little show is my first podcast. So let’s, uh, let’s hope that I do a good job. You will match my uh, my back. My back story is like back in 2012, 2013 before we admit. Um, I saw a cool youtube on youtube video that was in Salt Lake City by Devin supertramp, the famous Devin supertramp. He’s like the Utah poster boy for Youtube. Well, probably not now, but at that point, at that point, sorry, I don’t want to talk crap on them. It doesn’t, nothing, nothing against them. But uh, back in 2013 I saw his park war assassin’s creed video and the only thought that came to my head, I saw setup, did some research on how he did, how he did that.

I was like, that’s cool. No one’s seen a kool glide cam shot throughout the entire video, you know, these steady cam shots that look really good. And it was a kind of a low budget. And I saw it and I was like, if he can do it, I can do it. Like that was the only thought that came to my head. And I decided to go into data about $40,000 in purchase, a five d mark, three a cannon and some lenses and the glide cam and kind of started to get into like that style of, of video making. And filmmaking, and then we kind of met Lance and we moved down to sue you and I went down there to help him out a little bit and met you there. So that’s kind of like at the very beginning of my, um, my videography and filmmaking career.

Research And Apply Your Video Marketing

Taylor: Gotcha, man. Yeah, I think that’s awesome. You found something you love, do you want them to do and you actually pursued it, even went into debt for it, you know, a lot of people are scared to take risks and I think you are. It’s paying off for you taking that risk. So how, like why are you an expert in videography? You know, like a lot of people don’t like to brag, but I mean you’ve done a law for yourself. So tell, tell the audience why you’re an expert.

Alex: I don’t like to Brag. So let’s just have a disclaimer here. That there are people who are a lot better than I am at this, at this job. And I have a lot of work to do. We all do, man. We all do. Yeah. Um, for me the reason why I became such an expert is because I put in hours and hours and hours late, even late nights just doing research on, you know, camera equipment, what’s the best thing for this film, making techniques, color grading techniques, um, you know, even got into after effects a little bit with animation and like illustrator and Photoshop and photography and like all of that stuff.

I just did a lot and lot of research on the Internet. Youtube is such a big, has such a plethora, I guess, of videos and that you can, you can really get into and figure out, you know, and so I did a lot of research on that and then I kind of took it to heart and try to apply it. So like if there was some type of technique that I learned about color grading or learned about what type of shots tell what kind of story in what way, um, I would, uh, I would go out and try and like practice it. And my next project that I had and I, I mean I also went to class. I went to Uvu first film and I learned a lot of like onset basics and stuff from there and a lot of really good techniques and met a lot of great talented people there. Um, who also taught me a lot of, a lot of things as well. That’s why I’d say probably I’m an expert is like researching and then doing it and applying it.

Taylor: That’s awesome man. I really liked how you said that the fact that you do research and you apply a lot of times, even people listened to too many podcasts, read too many books and they learn all this stuff but they never put the time and effort into apply it. So I think that’s really awesome. And you go out, you research, you breathe really what you do, you eat it up.

Alex: Yeah, I’ve gotten to a point where like I’ll, I’ll see anything and it will be framed in like, you know, 16, nine aspect ratio and like, you know, rule of thirds and things like.

What’s up guys to Timothy with the marketing life podcast, and today I brought on a non marketer, her name is Jordache liker and the reason why I brought her on the show is I met this girl while back at Lake Powell and she had three rules that she shared with us and the reality of these rules is they are applicable to life in general, in the reality of it is it’s helped me through my marketing journey in my life and my business and I know these three things. If you guys apply them, it’s just going to help you become a better business owner, a better person all around, a better marketer, whatever your life goals is, it’s just going to make you a better person. So let’s dive in. Okay. What’s up guys? Today on the show, I have dash liker. This woman is a queen of all sorts. So jordache. Tell our audience today about you and your backstory.

Introduction to Jordache Leiker

Jordache: Okay, so I was born in draper. Well, I was born in California and I moved to draper, Utah where I grew up with my family and growing up I did a lot of competitive cheerleading and so me and my friends were always just running around cheering at football games, cheering allstar professionally. And then I went to college and I graduated from the University of Utah and I got my degree in human development and family studies and I thought I was going to go to PA school, so I was super excited about that and I want it to be a pediatric pa so I thought I’d get some experience with children and working with autism specifically because Utah has the highest rate of autism. It’s one in 33 kids here. So I started getting exposure to that and children with autism and I fell in love with it. So I actually withdrew my acceptance from PA school and I went and got my master’s in autism studies. Became a board certified behavior analyst and got my masters in special education. So now I am a director of an autism clinic here in Salt Lake City, Utah. And I also coached cheer Outta High School.

Jordache’s Famous Phrase

Taylor: That is so awesome. It sounds like you’re killing it in life gear, master’s degree, killer cheerleader. And just killing it. Thanks Stuart. So let’s get down to the nitty gritty of why I really wanted to have you on this show today. So tell us about your famous phrase that you taught me and how this all came about.

Jordache: Okay. So while I was running around with my friends in the good old cheer days, um, we had these three rules of life and I think the one that stuck most with you, Taylor was rule number two, which is you do you. I’m a do me. And the reason we establish these rules is just we would be either at a party or a social gathering or could even just be at home trying to think of what we wanted to do. And we’re like, okay, so we got to have these rules. How are we gonna know if we want to stay somewhere, if we want to go somewhere, if you want to do something new. And they kind of just started off really immature. They were developed in high school and so rule number one was you got to stay hydrated. So that Kinda was applicable more to like the chair scene where we’d be like working out really hard.

We’d be like, in that environment where were like cut to stay hydrated, you know, we just ran a mile and then rule two was you, I’m going to do me. So we’d look at my friends and I’d be like, are you doing you? Yeah, I’m doing me. Okay, let’s do it. And then rule number three was you got to feel it. So if you weren’t feeling it doing, you are staying hydrated. You got to get out. So then those rules kind of grew as I grew essentially. So then we’d be somewhere either how to dance in high school or at a party and we’d look at each other. Are you hydrated? Are you doing you, are you feeling it? Okay, let’s do it. Um, but it’s kind of funny because even though they started off very immature as they’ve grown and as I’ve grown in my life and progressed, they really have become something that I’ve lived my life through a foundation, which sounds kind of ironic because they are very simple rules like hydration, doing you and feeling it.
