When it comes to Online Marketing, there are certain skill sets you have to learn. It may not be easy at first, but once you learn them, you have them for life.

The simple formula to growing any business online is B.E.S.

B – build your audience, by providing valuable content to your audience. You can do this via videos, blog posts, YT videos, etc.

Create content around your brand, product or service. Anything that will help your audience with a problem. Start on any platform that you are comfortable with. As you consistently provide value, people will get to know, like and trust you.

E – engage with your audience. Now that you are providing content and building your audience, you want to engage with them.

As they are checking out your content, you want to connect with them and see how your “thing” can be of help.

S – sell to your audience. In other words you want to provide the solution. Don’t be afraid to sell, because that’s why you’re in business in the first place.

You also want to embrace the concept of multiple streams of income. If they say no to your primary offer, you have other resources that can help them.

The following are the 7 simple tips to starting an online marketing business. Each of these steps may take a little bit of time but beginning an online business can be way cheaper than buying into a franchise.

You have to choose a niche that you are passionate about and would love to work in. Without that, you will be struggling to keep it going.

Decide on a product or service that you want to offer. Only choose one at this point. It must be a product or service that you have knowledge about or can get knowledge about.

Choose a platform to use to put your business out there. This could be YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, or a website you own. Pick just one platform when getting started. The learning curve for all of these is steep. Focus on just one.

Build your brand around you and your niche / product or service. To do this you must keep providing authentic valuable content so people associate you with a product or service. They don’t have to know you to like you online.

Set up the systems that will help you service the public. This is probably the biggest learning steps that will be continuous throughout your online career.

Observe the results of your efforts then make minor changes and implement those changes and repeat the process. Once you have on product or service going well then repeat the process for other products.

Always look at ways to develop yourself in this industry. When first starting out you may find your self overwhelmed with the entire process. Keep learning one thing at a time and apply it to the process.

Gather statistical data and analyze it. There’s no way to improve upon your site if you don’t know who is visiting, where they’re coming from, how often they stop by, and what keeps bringing them back (or keeps them away). Use a tool like Google Analytics to help achieve this.

To get the best use of out of social networking websites, create a basis of followers by posting useful and interesting content. Once you have a certain number of followers, you can mention your product in a post or a tweet. Do not post about your products repeatedly and keep on giving your followers the content they want.

Blogs are one of the best tools at your disposal for enhancing your internet marketing success. A high-quality blog that you add content to on a regular basis gives you another way to connect with potential customers. Blogs can be a great way to expand your website’s size, which will give your website greater visibility to search engines and increase the amount of traffic to your website.

Make sure you’re utilizing social networking to promote your business. Allowing people to follow updates and find more information about you through Facebook, Twitter, and other sites will increase your chances of them becoming customers. Plus, if one customer “likes” your page on Facebook, their friends may see it and check out your business as well.

If you are not sure that online marketing is the right way of life for you, then just start by doing it part-time. By going into it part-time, you can maintain the security of your full-time job and test the waters of online marketing. This will give you time to see what online channels work best for you before you make the full commitment.

When marketing your site, try to avoid looking at the ranking of your pages for at least the first few months. Checking on your progress may cause you to become discouraged. Results do not happen immediately, and seeing slow progress might cause you to throw in the towel. Just keep your head down, work hard, and then check in.

When it comes to online marketing, you should also focus on what your competition is doing. Visit competitor websites and do searches for them using keywords. Take note of your competitors actions and see if you can use them to come up with your own ideas.

Offer incentives for customers to come back to your website on a regular basis. Offer a free ebooks or a discount code each week so that people feel like they have to come back on a regular basis to get the freebie or get a discount on their purchases.

If you are just starting out, give yourself a lot of small goals, maybe to make a new web page, or to comment on an advertisement. This will help to get your name and your business’s name out there even more. And once you have a lot of people following you and buying your product, aim for those bigger goals that you have.
